12/16/14

Really wish it would snow--- I don't much care for the cold without snow.
Had the husbands work Christmas party over the weekend and it was fun-- mellow and surprisingly no one took pictures.  Crazy!

Sunday was nice as we just relaxed and took it easy.  Watched the new Robocop.  Already enjoying not working weekends!

Monday the man went to the movies for the LOTR/Hobbit all day marathon.  I believe I have finished Christmas shopping for the year!!!!!

Wishing  I had a fireplace to sit in front of right about now!

Hard Rock Candy
2 cups granulated sugar

Combine in saucepan with a dash of salt and bring to a boil.  Cook to a soft crackle about 290 degrees.  Remove from heat and add color and flavor.  Swirl gently to blend.  Pour into a 8x8x2 metal pan.  Let stand until firm and cut into little puffs or let harden and drop to shatter and roll in powder sugar

December 1, 2014

Trying to get back in to the swing of normal life as working a strange holiday schedule really messes with my sleep.  So trying to stay awake today.
I did in my insomnia watch "Winter's Tale".  Excellent movie if I do say so myself.  I sobbed all night.  I am not really a Colin Farrell fan but he did an excellent job.

Ok, and because I died and Beverly died in the movie and maybe I am a little moody.  But I still loved it.

So Turkey noodle soup day and bought ingredients for Christmas cakes.  Will try and post recipes if not here or on the recipe page.

Just have to finish decorating so I can enjoy the quiet of the lights.
