12/16/14

Really wish it would snow--- I don't much care for the cold without snow.
Had the husbands work Christmas party over the weekend and it was fun-- mellow and surprisingly no one took pictures.  Crazy!

Sunday was nice as we just relaxed and took it easy.  Watched the new Robocop.  Already enjoying not working weekends!

Monday the man went to the movies for the LOTR/Hobbit all day marathon.  I believe I have finished Christmas shopping for the year!!!!!

Wishing  I had a fireplace to sit in front of right about now!

December 1, 2014

Trying to get back in to the swing of normal life as working a strange holiday schedule really messes with my sleep.  So trying to stay awake today.
I did in my insomnia watch "Winter's Tale".  Excellent movie if I do say so myself.  I sobbed all night.  I am not really a Colin Farrell fan but he did an excellent job.

Ok, and because I died and Beverly died in the movie and maybe I am a little moody.  But I still loved it.

So Turkey noodle soup day and bought ingredients for Christmas cakes.  Will try and post recipes if not here or on the recipe page.

Just have to finish decorating so I can enjoy the quiet of the lights.

A day like any other-- tree decorating

Tree decorating-- the boys are placing this year the Star Trek ships on the tree-- it looks pretty good and now, only now can I see the need for more than one tree in the house.  As none of the regular Christmas ornaments made the tree.  It is going to be weird without them but the tree looks pretty cool.  I do have to say!

Listening to Christmas music-- one of the few times Rob actually listens to them while he is home.

Gavin's tree all decorated by him with his ornaments.  Can you see the odd groupings of ornaments in areas.
 Polar Bears
 Seals

My stolen Coke bear- precious moments stolen!  I did promise not to turn these into Christmas cards next year!

Holiday decorating

So I am getting in the holiday spirit-- some presents wrapped and guess for who??
Got to love Brach's!  These candy canes are awesome!  Love them!  Love not to share them with any one either!  But had to because-- so hope you enjoy-- bad thing is that I can't remember where I bought them to buy anymore!
Sunset 11/24  What gorgeous colors and such a beautiful evening.

Christmas tree stand on the way to work!  I love the lights it really puts me in a holly jolly mood!

Turkey had-- I found at work-- apparently the ER doc got the wrong impression and thought I was wearing an erect phallus symbol on my head-- way to ruin the evening.  I did have fun and some patients did enjoy the festiveness of night shift.
So this is what we started with-- plain yard
 Added giant rubber duck

And ended the evening with ---- tada!!!  Lights
 Giant rubber ducky
 Snowman family

 Wreath
HO HO HO!!!  Merry Christmas

Holiday Mode

Trying to get in the holiday mode to start my baking-- but with my holiday work schedule it is going to be a lot crazy!  So I started today by wrapping some presents for under the tree when we put it up.

Finally got my WOW character to level 100.

So now I need to start baking for a holiday party on the 13th of December and hope that everything is ready for our little Thanksgiving celebration.

Happy Thanksgiving to all friends and family, travel safely!
